Help tackle the blooms - Become our eyes on the beach

What is a seaweed bloom?

A bloom is considered to be an excessive growth of seaweed causing accumulations on beaches.

Presence of seaweed on beaches is normal, however, if you observe large accumulations, it indicates an imbalance in the ecosystem.

If you observe similar situations on the beach, submit your observations here.

Help us monitor these events by following these steps:

  1. Take a photo of some seaweed in your hand for us to be able to classify the species.
  2. Take a photograph of the whole area affected by the seaweed accumulation.
  3. Enter the location of the beach and fill out the form.
